With a lifting capacity of up to 30 tonne per jack, Portalift
mobile rail hoists offer an economical and flexible solution to
all your workshop servicing and maintenance requirements.
Portalift utilises high performance, linear bearing lifting technology.
The hardened steel shaft and recirculating ball system offer an
extremely reliable and efficient lifting system for the modern
rail industry workshop.

|
Complete
flexibility
Portalift allows you to perform maintenance
anywhere in the workshop with no installation required.
Because it is completely mobile, the system can be relocated
to another work site. |

Increased
productivity
Light but strong, Portalift rail hoists have been
designed to allow easy maneuverability and positioning
by one operator. Hoist mounted control cabinets
and remote pendant allow easy operation and complete
control. |

Precise
and reliable operation
Portalift's recirculating ball system is virtually friction-free,
with a mechanical efficiency around 95%. This offers an
extremely efficient and smooth operation. |

Maximum
safety
A range of safety features are incorporated and active at
every stage of operation. Remote pendants allow the operator
to safely operate and observe the lifting operation from
any point around the vehicle, clear of the lifting zone.

|
General
Specifications
Construction
The all-steel hoist assemblies have a twin column mast
mounted on a forked base. The lifting assembly is mounted
on the mast and equipped with two front and two rear
load-bearing guide rollers. All rollers have sealed
ball bearings that carry the load and side thrust.

Positive
Stop Safety Device
Each hoist is fitted with a unique centrifugal braking
system at the base of the shaft.

Drive
Mechanism
The electric brake motor drives the lifting mechanism
through a worm gearbox connected directly to the top of
the drive shaft. The drive shaft is a precision-ground
steel screw, with two recirculating ball nuts. The load
is taken on the drive shaft in tension. The drive shaft
hangs from a lubricated self-aligned bearing at the top
of the hoist. The lifting assembly is always held true
on another lubricated self-aligning bearing. |

Operation
Maneuverability
Portalift
hoists have been designed to allow easy maneuverability
and positioning by one operator. Under load the hoists settle
securely on the floor with four-point contact. All hoists
are fitted with a handling and carry point at the top.
Remote
Control
The lifting and lowering modes are controlled from the remote
pendant. This allows the operator freedom to safely observe
the lifting operation from any point around the vehicle.

Precise and reliable
Unlike Acme-type screws, Portalift's
recirculating ball system is virtually friction-free, with
a mechanical efficiency around 95%. This offers an extremely
efficient and smooth operation. Because of the "rolling"
contact between nut and shaft, both these surfaces can be
hardened material, reducing wear and increasing life. This
avoids the inherent wear problems of the hardened shaft
and softer bronze nut of the Acme thread screw system.
